The place has been serving more than two decades in Claremont and providing guests with Mexican food along with margaritas. The name of the place is El Ranchero Mexican Food and Margaritas because it serves that. That is why the other name of the place is the House of The Margaritas because they have varieties in their drink such as strawberry ones or traditional. By now, you can tell that unless you want some tequila for a meal, there is no reason to stop here. Checking its online reviews and asking people who actually came here to “eat” did not find the service to be satisfying.
The problem might be the place only focuses on the Margaritas. They might as well just call the place El Ranchero Margaritas. It is also not a kid-friendly place as it has full bar. The inside is nothing special. The outside can look nice sometimes, depends on the time you are coming. You can order the shrimp platter, because that it normal not strange or absurd like most other dishes they serve. It comes with Mexican rice, enchilada cheese and eight big shrimps. If they are so much professional and serving people for so long, one thing will make your curious. Why does their enchilada lacks flavor and taste?
The answer could be that it does not have a proper meat filling which is the main core and the base is the sauce. The meat melted away and have little or no taste. It will feel soupy when eaten and the sauce is not spicy or anything without any flavor. The taco is dull. Taco, Salsa and Enchilada are all important dishes to the Mexican and all restaurants that are preparing this cuisine should at least excel at these food items.
The worst part is that whether they are full or not, upon being seated, the waiter will say you have to wait thirty minutes. If you agree, they will be alright with it and if you are not they will be rude to you. It is strange when the owner of the store does not teach the staff how to interact with the people. Sometimes they bring in the food fast, such as within ten minutes, then why do they tell the customers that they will be late? Previously, this place received a lot of praises for the customer service. The regulars who have been coming here since more than a decade say that previously this used to be the best place to eat. The customer service was astounding and excellent. With each day and the young staffs who newly joined are not suitable. It is not easy to talk to them. You can complain about something but their behavior with you will be wild.
If you are planning to have a party there, think of it as already ruined. That means that you will get dirty utensils and if you want that your guests get disrespect from the staffs, then this the place. There were times when more than twenty people were supposed to be there for an occasion. The host made a reservation yet El Ranchero got everything wrong. They were serving the incorrect dishes and they did not even behave nicely. Even though they were at fault, they blame the host of the party. If anyone want to drink margaritas and just be with their friends, they can come here. They should not be expecting a proper meal or delicious food or anything of high-quality.
