Elizabeth’s pizza takes the crown for voted “Best Italian” and “Best Pizza in town” by GoTriad. It is an authentic Italian Restaurant which is also family owned. You cannot simply rely on a pizzeria that just opened a year ago or within the last five years. Elizabeth’s pizza in Greensboro was an offspring 30 years ago. That is why today it rises on top because of their experience, skills and knowledge in the art of pizza making. Not everyone makes excellent pizzas.
Ask individuals about different pizza places in any area. They might say:
“The pizza was cold but I liked the taste”
“The price is too much for the pizza and the lasagna was not hot enough”
“I liked the toppings but it was not enough cheesy”
As you can see people put up mixed comments about many pizzerias but when it is about Elizabeth’s pizza, the comments are always overwhelming. They do not just say they are serving Italian food just like that. Elizabeth’s pizza does offer varieties in the lines of Italian items such as everyone’s favorite Chicken Parmigiana and Shrimp Scamp. You might say that Shrimp Scampi and Chicken Parmigiana is found in most places and they are common. Their food includes the famous Italian dishes that is not always available everywhere such as Bruschetta al Pomodoro which is on the Top 5 list of Italian foods. Elizabeth Pizza also has Veal Marsala, Seafood Positano, also the original Margherita Pizza which is also an Italian special.
The pizza is not just something you would make at home: Get a dough, or buy one pre-made and dab on sauce and the toppings and bake in the preheated over. It is also not something that is available in most other pizzerias such as the pizzaiolos put their special sauce of the house and add on the toppings according to the menu and bake in the oven. That is the reason some pizzas are burnt which is a disappointment because you are paying a huge bill for something burnt. The ovens are wood-fire which brings extra richness to them. If you are not going to have something Italian, choose from the American menu. You can have burgers, subs and sandwiches.
The best part is that you can come here with family or friends. The place is Tuscany themed yet simple and casual. Just because it has a full bar does not mean you cannot come here with the family. For those who love outdoor seating, they can have that here. Children sometimes like the outdoors because they like the freedom of making noises and playing around. That is not a problem in Elizabeth pizza because they can do that inside the pizzeria as well.
Make a reservation before you come because there are complains about people waiting more than half an hour for a table. Who wants to wait? Unless you would want to test your patience, it is going to be wise to call their number and make a reservation in your name beforehand so that there is a beautiful table waiting for you. One thing that is disappointing is that when someone has to wait even though they made reservations.
Some people find the place to be overpriced but they keep on coming back. They say it is worth the money. The pizzas are always tasty and fresh. Gourmet toppings for pizza includes artichoke, Kalamata olives, bacon, chicken, broccoli, eggplant, feta cheese, spinach, pineapple, roasted pepper, sun dried tomato. Regular toppings are anchovies, green peppers, basil, black olives, green olives, garlic, ham, hamburger, hot Peppers, meatball, jalapenos, mushrooms, onions, pepperoni, sausage, salami, sliced tomatoes and extra cheese.
You can have a single slice at just $2.49 and add for $0.85 for gourmet toppings and $0.55 for regular toppings. The pizza Margherita dressed in fresh mozzarella, olive oil, basil and tomato sauce and basil. The cost for a large Margherita pizza is $20.99 and a small one is $12.95. Is not that a little too much for a pizza that does not have anything but some leaves in cheese? The place is surely overpriced maybe because of the recognition or the customer base it created. Rather than that, some folks decide to try other places that are trying hard enough to attract customers and keep them by turning them into regulars.
The full bar is also not a good idea for a pizzeria. It sorts of ruins the atmosphere. When people order items that have both meat and cheese at the same time, they say that the amount of cheese is more that makes the meat disappear. The lasagna is also not up to the mark. The place should be able to deliver proper Shrimp Scampi and it is also an easy dish to prepare yet the presentation is strange. People have a difficult time with eating the Shrimp Scampi. Although they do not make burnt pizzas but they sometimes can be undercooked. That is not something you would expect from a place with so many awards and recognition. Also, the place has various eateries but they are not pizzerias. There is the Indian one, grilled and BBQ, burger place, Japanese cuisine and Chinese food.
Another factor you have noticed by now is that there is no food delivery. You can dine in or get take out. The service is friendly but there will be no special treatment. That means they will not feel like family but treat you like a customer. That should not be an issue as long as the food tastes fine.
