Maybe you’ve got a crush on the secretary at work, or the girl who sits two seats down in English class. You’ve had a couple conversations and she doesn’t seem repulsed by your presence, so you begin to wonder if there’s potential for something more. We’ve all been there. There are many different personality types, and they each express favor or dislike in different ways, and not all of them are being truthful even if the signals are there. That is to say there is no definitive formula to know what a woman is thinking at any given time. However, there are signs to look for in each interaction that may give indication as to your chances, but you may still have to put your feelings on the line at some point and simply ask her how she feels. 1) She smiles at you—Not in the polite way that people smile at strangers when they make eye contact to avoid looking frowny, but a genuine, warm smile where her eyes light up. This may sound over poetic, but many women can’t help but smile at someone they’re fond of when they see them. So if you turn the corner or enter the room and she smiles at the first instance of noticing your presence, that’s a good sign.
2) She softens her tone—Whenever she addresses you, her voice goes up half an octave. Men do this too, when we talk to our mothers or girlfriends or wives. It’s affection seeping out of our vocal chords subconsciously. You can tell by the way she says “hey” in a voice that is almost a whisper.
3) She finds excuses to talk to you—This one is perhaps the most obvious. She often stretches small talk beyond the polite lengths used to fill the air. She enlists your help or asks your opinion about something you know she can figure on her own. She shares the smallest details of her life for seemingly no reason at all. But there is a reason; and the reason is that she likes you.
4) Unnecessary physical contact—You said a joke that wasn’t that funny, or teased her lightheartedly. Instead of offering you a polite laugh, she playfully smacks you on the arm and tells you how silly you are. Or maybe she offers hugs instead of waves hello or goodbye. She is expressing that she is comfortable with you being in her physical space, but be careful, the friend zone looks very similar.
5) She asks you about you—The questions involve your origin story, your interests, and your aspirations—the type of stuff a woman would want to know about her mate in the future. This means she’s interested in you. She is trying to get to know you better in order to piece together whether you’re an ideal mate or someone who seems sweet but is actually a stalker. It pays to be honest here, but not too honest.
