USING THE MICROWAVE
What you will need:
· A potato
· A fork
· Extra virgin olive oil
Here is what you need to do:
Step 1: Potatoes are never stored inside the refrigerator and they tend to be dirty. One cannot simply take a potato can put in on the microwave oven. Wash it under running tap water and do not make the mistake of peeling it off with a potato peeler. The skin should be there while you are baking in the oven.
Step 2: Utilize a fork to make several holes all over the potato. It will help the baking process be quick. Another reason to make holes with the fork is to prevent it from exploding in the oven. As the potato holds a lot of water in it, not poking holes with cause them to burst inside the oven because of the pressure.
Step 3: Keep the potato on a microwave-safe plate and cover with olive oil. Put in the microwave oven and set it to five minutes and thirty seconds. Take it out after it is done and flip it over to get the other side done for another five minutes and thirty seconds. After the eleven minutes is over, use a fork to check if the inside is soft and moist. If the potato is tender and moist use a fork to open it and put it in the oven for more 3 minutes. It is completely done and ready to served.
USING THE OVEN
What you will need:
· A potato
· A fork
· Extra virgin olive oil
· Kosher salt
Here is what you need to do:
Step 1: Wash the potatoes under running tap water. Make sure they are clean and dry. Do not cut them nor peel them. Just keep them on the oven tray. Cover the oven tray with an aluminum baking sheet and put the potatoes on it.
Step 2: Poke a lot of holes in them using the fork. Make sure you are not hurting yourself. The holes will make the steam go away. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Celsius.
Step 3: Cover them in extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle some kosher salt. Place them in the oven for forty minutes or you can check with the fork for doneness.
Tips
• If you do not have kosher salt, use any salt you have at home like table salt.
• You can have them with broccoli and cheese for a healthy meal.
