Here is how you can cook broccoli
Step 1: Pick out the perfect florets from the supermarket. Make sure there is no yellowing. The florets should be perfectly green and look fresh. You can ask the sales person which are the fresh ones. The stems should not be soft. Soft stems are a sign of old broccolis. Make sure there are no brown dots or marks anywhere. You can store them in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. They become yellow very quickly and if you leave them out, they will turn yellow faster. They turn yellow quicker than the cauliflower.
Step 2: Use a sharp knife to cut them. Some prefer taking off the florets with their hands but you can also utilize a knife to cut them. Wash them and place them in the water to boil. If you want to add protein, you can add chicken breast to the broccoli. The stem is edible so do not throw them away. You can cut the stem into small pieces and boil them as well.
Step 3: To do so, prepare your chicken breast, that means either boiling it or frying it on the stove or baking it in the oven with spices and seasoning of your choice. After you boil the broccoli pieces, take them off the water. Serve them on a plate with the chicken breast. You can eat the broccoli pieces in raw state but boiling them for two minutes makes them tender and easy to eat.
Step 4: You can add a complex carb to complete the dish so that you have your side of protein and carbohydrates along with broccoli. Prepare spaghetti and if you like any other carb such as rice, potato or any other you can add them. If you have some carrots, chop them up and serve them along with the broccoli. · If you want to cook broccolis in the oven, you have to heat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Be sure that there is no moisture and cover them in olive oil. Sprinkle some salt over the florets and put them on a baking sheet. Keep them in the oven for 20 minutes. They will turn golden-brown.
