How to cook scallops? Scallops can be made in a short time and does not require much hard work or ingredients because they contain the flavors within them. Here is what you will need:

· Scallops

· Butter

· Salt (kosher salt or sea salt)

· Pepper

· Garlic

· Olive oil/Vegetable oil

Here is what you need to do:

Step 1: First of all, pick out the scallops from the market. If you are lucky you will be able to manage fresh ones or else, you will have to get the frozen ones. Just like defrosting other fishes, you need to leave it out in the skin. Once they are melted and ready for cooking, wash them properly. After rinsing them, dry them off individually by wiping them with a dry cloth.

Step 2: Put a skillet on the stove and pour the olive oil. Let the skillet heat up while you cover the scallops with freshly grounded pepper and salt. Do not add any other spices or seasoning. After the skillet has got heated up, set the flame to low and add butter and let it melt around the surface.

Step 3: You can add a clove of garlic to it. Add the scallops and let them sit for at least seventy seconds.  Flip them over and by now you are supposed to get that caramel look and it should look brownish in appearance. It is ready to get served with any carbohydrate you want like rice.

Deep fried scallops

Here is what you will need:

· Scallops

· Breadcrumbs

· Eggs

· Olive oil

· Tartar sauce

Here is what you need to do:

Step 1: You need to clean and dry the small scallops’ pieces. Get the deep-frying pan ready and pour oil.

Step 2: Break the eggs and whisk them and add the scallops there. Cover the scallops with the breadcrumbs and make sure they are fully covered.

Step 3: When the oil is slightly heated, insert the covered scallops one by one. Make sure you are not overcooking them or burning them. Flip them over carefully. Serve with tartar sauce.

Tips

• In the deep-fried scallops, you can serve it with tartar sauce because it is a mayonnaise-based sauce that goes perfectly with sea food.

• Prepare the scallops after you make the rest of the items that you are going put on the plate. For example, you are going with risotto, make sure you make that first before the scallops or else it will not taste fresh or good.

• You can sprinkle your scallops with a small piece of lemon or serve with lemon wedges if you want that citrus flavor.

• You should use a pan that distributes heat evenly and do not overcrowd it with scallops. Cook them in small batches.

• You can use tongs to flip them instead of using a spoon.
