Step 1: Know the reason. First of all, find out why would you want to cut your hair when you can easily go to a hairdresser. There can be several reasons like you want to save money, you do not want to go out, you think they overcharge you, you do not like the way they cut or you are curious to do it yourself. Some believes that the hairstylist cuts a lot more than they asked and they come home with the hairstyle they never wanted. Some thinks that the salons are overpriced and tons of money can be saved if you do it yourself.
Step 2: Get the equipment
You will need a big metal clip to hold your hair. Probably 2 to 3 depending on the current length of your hair. You will need a scissor that cuts hair or is designed for hairdressers. They tend to be sleek and smooth with sharp edges. You can purchase them and they do not cost much. You may even get hairdressing kits and set that you can purchase. Look for deals on hair materials and see if you can get a discount on shampoo and hair conditioner. You will also need baby powder and an empty spray bottle.
Step 3: Start spraying
Get the empty spray bottle, clean it well and fill it with tap water. Spray it on one side of your hair. You can start with the right side. Divide the right side of your hair into two parts. Clip the upper part if you are working on the lower part and vice versa. If you have split ends and thinking of just getting rid of those, look into the mirror and spot the red, damaged parts. They are the ones you should target and cut them off.
Step 4: Cut your hair
If you are thinking of simply cutting them to your desired length, cut them off and make sure you check into the mirror, how they look. Do the same for the other side and let go of all the clips. Brush your hair with a good comb and use powder on your neck and shoulders. Now it is time to shampoo your hair.
Step 5: Wash it off
lean over the bathtub or your sink and use the shampoo to get the perfect hair. Wash it off and apply the conditioner and rinse thoroughly.
