Step 2: The second step to learning how to make a nether portal is all about knowing how to make the obsidian that you are mining. Therefore, in the game, you need to get some buckets filled with water so that you can pour them onto the lava. You should ensure that you have enough water so that you can make enough obsidian just in case something goes wrong in the long run.
