Decide and understand
First of all, ask yourself do you really want to decrease its size because there will be no way to get it in its original size and even the shop you bought it from might not take it as return. If you are sure then ask yourself why you want to do it. Understand the concept that once you make it smaller, it will need proper care before the clothing gets damaged. From the next time, when you will wash it, it may alter in size again so keep an eye on that.
Read the tag

Easy: If the tag says “dry clean” only or it is made of denim, polyester or cotton you can get a spray bottle and fill it with water. Spray all over and leave it outside to dry. After few hours, repeat the process and leave it again for more few hours in the sun. After that you will be having a shirt of your desired size and shape.
Medium: Hand wash the shirt with a basin full of hot water. Do not strangle it or squeeze it to get the water out or else it will do the opposite job and go big in size. Leave it out to dry. Be careful when hand washing the shirt with hot water.
Hard: Wash in the machine if the shirt did not shrink using the easy and medium procedures. Use heavy wash with hot water and let it gently dry in the dryer.
